Description:
IT/NET is seeking Business Analysts as part of its growing employee base. In the consulting world, Business Analysts advise corporations and other organizations in strategy from e-commerce to change management to systems integration. They analyze a business problem from various angles and develop preliminary hypotheses for its cause, study the client's organization, operations, customers or competition to test they hypotheses, and then either recommend a solution and present it to the client, or implement it. Regardless of the task at hand, business analysts are always focused on ensuring that a client's business is accountable, efficient, effective and competitive. Reporting to the Managment Consulting Practice Leader, you should be a self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities could include: • Facilitating teams in developing methodologies, process mapping or modeling, problem solving, and benchmarking • Working closely with the client or client team to establish and understand customer requirements and process goals; analyze, chart and measure existing business processes • Identifying potential technical and human resource opportunities and constraints for process change • Developing business cases which include a vision statement, a case for action, operational metrics, cost/benefit analysis, options analysis and recommended strategies • Analyzing and adjusting existing business processes, determining a priority list for redesigned processes • Identifying, designing and implementing early change opportunities and initiating identification of best practices and or benchmarking studies • Designing new processes, defining supporting organizational structures and testing and verifying new processes • Developing transition strategies and plans as well as a program for continuously improving the redesigned business processes • Establish customer requirements and process goals; analyze, chart and measure existing business processes • Identify potential technical and human resource opportunities and constraints for process change • Develop business cases which include a vision statement, a case for action, operational metrics, cost/benefit analysis, options analysis and recommended strategies • Analyze and adjust existing business processes, determine priority list for redesigned processes • Develop transition strategies and plans. Develop a program for continuously improving the redesigned business processes.
Job Requirements: • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering, business administration or a related discipline OR completion of a college program in computer science is usually required • Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a business analyst in a Government of Canada setting is required • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience documenting complex technical specifications.

Security Clearance:

Must be eligible for a valid Government of Canada security clearance to at least the Secret level. |

- A minimum of 5 to 7 years in a business analyst function is required
- Extensive experience and certifications in industry standard design tools or processes is usually required
