Senior Database Developer

Description:
Our Client requires the services of a Senior Database Developer to support the Life Cycle Management for the Threat and Vulnerability system. The Senior DD will ensure that all database management activities and enhancements are implemented with the least impact to the TVAS application.


Security Clearance:
Must hold a valid Government of Canada security clearance to at least the Top Secret level.

Requirements:
  • 1. University degree at the Bachelor level in Computer Science or Engineering/ Applied Science in one of the following disciplines: Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering; and 2. a minimum of five (5) years in the last eight (8) years were fulfilling the role of a Database Developer as defined in at least three (3) of the mandatory experience paragraphs detailed herein OR 3. University degree at the Bachelor level in Science, Mathematics or Applied Science/ Engineering in a discipline other than listed in paragraph 1; 4. and a minimum of six (6) years in the last nine (9) years fulfilling the role of a Database Developer as defined in at least three (3) of the mandatory experience paragraphs detailed herein; OR 5. Community College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering Technology; and a minimum of five (5) years in the last eight (8) years were fulfilling the role of a Database Developer as defined in at least three (3) of the mandatory experience paragraphs detailed herein; OR 6. A minimum of seven (7) years the last ten (10) years fulfilling the role of a Database Developer as defined in at least three (3) of the mandatory experience paragraphs detailed herein
  • Experience in logical database design and modeling.
  • Experience in performing physical database design and implementation in at least one or more of the following: Oracle or Sybase or Objectivity or Gemstone or DB2 or Retrievalware.
  • Experience in designing and developing database related software for n-tier architecture.
  • Experience optimizing physical database design of a production database to increase performance.
  • Experience in applying IT security in a database environment.
  • Experience in database administration in a network environment.
  • Experience debugging J2EE/Oracle based Systems including JavaScript/JSP/Java Modules.
  • Experience installing/upgrading Oracle based adobe LiveCycle software (1yr in the last 3yrs)
  • Experience in managing and performance tuning Oracle 10g based databases running Oracle text, Oracle Label Security, and Adobe LiveCycle workflow. (1yr in the last 3yrs)
