Description:
IT/NET is seeking a Solutions Architect to work as part of its growing Systems Development (SD) Practice. This practice specializes in delivering multi-platform and product expertise in Systems Delivery (SD), .Net, Java, COTS, Oracle, and SQL to its clients, primarily within the federal government. We are a services partner of Cognos, Oracle and Microsoft and are a trusted strategic advisor to many government departments in all aspects of reporting and performance management. We are looking for self-starters who can provide a full range of consulting services from planning to operations, with an emphasis on the strategic and architectural elements of an effective information platform. Accordingly the ideal candidate needs to have broad Architectural experience
Reporting to the Systems Delivery Practice Leader and able to work with minimal supervision, your responsibilities will include: • Working with clients to gather document and analyze requirements to determine appropriate SD solutions to meet client needs • Working with enterprise architecture groups in the definition of enterprise application development standards, methodologies and approaches. • Support the Systems Delivery team in the development and validation of costing estimates and project implementation plans. • Defining and developing conceptual design, technical design and architecture diagrams at the systems level. • Providing multi-platform and product expertise and solutions (.Net, Java, COTS, Oracle, SQL, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or other bachelor’s degree plus 1 year IT diploma in a recognized college or significant related work experience. • Eight to ten (8 -10) years application development experience with three to four (3 – 4) years of application architecture experience • 4 years project planning experience • Experience in defining solutions and providing estimates as part of the Government RFP cycle • Experience in designing, building and integrating custom Web and desktop applications and COTS solutions • Government of Canada security clearance at the level of Enhanced Reliability or better • Self motivated team player, with strong work ethic and ability to multi-task with changing priorities • Able to present solutions to senior management and enterprise technology groups • Complex problem solving and logic capabilities • Training experience
